7th Pay Commission: Central employees awaiting dearness allowance in the second half of the year are expected to get good news in late September or October. Meanwhile, the state government has given a big good news for the Scheduled Tribe employees of Maharashtra. In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has approved the increase in dearness allowance of Scheduled Tribe employees from 34 percent to 38 percent. Thus there is a total increase of 4 percent. According to the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Public Relations Cell, this move will cost the Maharashtra government a total of Rs. 9 crore will be an additional burden.
3% Expectation of Central Employees: Let us tell you that central government employees are eagerly waiting for July DA increase. It is likely to be announced soon. There is no official confirmation on the date of announcement of the DA addition, but media reports are speculating that the decision is likely to be announced in the month of September 2023.
According to the report, since retail inflation in the country hit a 15-month high in July, the government is hoping to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) from 3% to 45%. The increase in DA will be effective from 1 July 2023.
At present, more than one crore central government employees and pensioners are entitled to 42 percent. Dearness Allowance getting While central government employees get DA, pensioners get DR. DA and DR are extended twice a year – January and July. The last time the DA of central employees was increased was in March 2023 and it was increased by 4 percent to 42 percent.
