Jasprit Bumrah rocked Team India, taking 2 wickets
Famous Krishna also took 2 wickets in his T20 debut against Ireland
New Delhi. Steady pace… same old color up and tight line length… Jasprit Bumrah, who took to the field almost 11 months after back surgery, didn’t feel like he had been out that long. In the first 6 balls, he showed that he is back to shine in international cricket. Looking at his bowling, it didn’t look like he made any changes to the action or was in any trouble on his return. Like Bumrah, it felt the same to see famous fast bowler Krishna returning from surgery.
He bowled at a speed of 145 km per hour in the first over. That is, overall, the comeback of both the bowlers was brilliant and it would have lifted a huge burden from the Indian team management and captain Rohit Sharma and he would have breathed a sigh of relief. Because the ODI World Cup is less than 50 days away and after 10 days Team India has to enter the Asia Cup. In such a situation, Bumrah and the dream comeback of famous will strengthen the Indian pace attack.
On Jasprit Bumrah’s return, he hit a four off the first ball but stunned Andy Balbirnie on the very next ball. Even though the speed of this ball of Bumrah was around 130 kmph. But there was little swing and seam movement to deceive the batsmen. The ball came in quickly and the ball took the edge of Balbirnie’s bat and hit the stumps while playing the shot. After this, Bumrah increased the pace and 3 balls later, Lorcan Tucker was caught out playing a scoop shot behind the wicketkeeper off Bumrah. After hitting a four off the first ball, Bumrah bowled the next five balls and took two wickets. Hardly anyone can expect a good comeback from this.
Bumrah also bowled the 19th over of Ireland’s innings and varied his pace and length frequently and conceded just 1 run in this over. He took 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs of his quota. On his return, Bumrah showed his mettle in the powerplay and then the death overs and proved that he passed the first Test with flying colors and signaled for the coming days that he is going to be a problem for the batsmen again.
Famous has made a good comeback
Like Bumrah, the legendary Krishna, another fast bowler vital to India’s World Cup plans, also made a comeback after back surgery in the first T20I against Ireland. This was his T20 debut. He also started with a weak ball like Bumrah and like his captain got the wicket of Harry Tector in the first over. Unlike Bumrah, Prasad started straight at 130 kmph and his 5th ball of the first over was 90 mph.
Bowled consistently at a speed of 140 kmph
Famous used the short ball consistently and got extra bounce. Due to this quality, before getting injured, he was a vital bowler of Team India for the middle overs in the famous ODIs. Famous got his second wicket on one such ball. George Dockrell tried to get ahead of the ball from Famous and hit a shot but this ball had extra bounce and pace. Because of this, the ball hit the top of Dockerell’s bat and he was caught out at cover.
Bumrah was also effective in the death overs
After bowling two overs each in his first spell, Bumrah and Prasad returned towards the end of the innings. Subsequently, Ireland had gone from 31 for 5 to 80 for 6 and were looking to mount a comeback. Bumrah gave 13 runs in his third over and Prashant 15 runs in his fourth over. But Bumrah made a tremendous comeback in the 19th over of Ireland’s innings, conceding only 1 run. Famous took 2 wickets for 32 runs.
