More than 11 lakh saplings were planted by CAPF across the country yesterday.

Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah A special one-day tree plantation drive was organized by CAPF on the occasion of planting four crore saplings under All India CAPF Tree Plantation Drive on Friday. Under this, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) force organized a one-day mega tree plantation drive in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas of Chhattisgarh.

ITBP is organizing tree plantation programs in Rajnandgaon, Mohla-Manpur-Choki, Khairagarh-Chuikhadan-Gandai, Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts of the state with the support of local population. Amit Shah planted saplings worth four crores
Various Company Operating Bases (COBs) of ITBP located in remote LWE affected areas of Chhattisgarh also joined other participants through video conferencing at Greater Noida venue, where Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah was present. Four crore saplings were planted by him in the all-India CAPF tree plantation drive.
10 lakh CAPF personnel planted trees on a large scale
The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have planted lakhs of trees during the past few months under the Green Nation campaign. The campaign was first launched on July 12, 2020 by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Since then, CAPF personnel have been planting a variety of saplings from Ladakh to Kanyakumari and Bhuj to the eastern tip of Arunachal Pradesh. One million employees of all CAPFs have, over a period of four years, undertaken a massive tree plantation drive involving civil society, academics and school children as part of a community tree plantation drive.
Regular tree plantation across the country for last three years
CAPF – Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Armed Forces (SSB), Assam Rifles (AR), and National Security Guards (NSG) etc. have been regularly planting trees across the country for the past three years.
