Washington: Former US President Donald Trump is going to surrender on Thursday in the Georgia election fraud case. According to sources, he is going to appear in the Fulton County Jail. CNN reports that the date was set Monday during talks with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office on his consent bond and release conditions. In a 98-page Georgia indictment last week, Trump and 18 others were charged with a total of 41 criminal counts in connection with the 2020 Georgia election reverse attempt.
According to CNN, Trump said on his social media platform Truth on Monday that he was going to surrender in Georgia on Thursday. He would be arraigned that day by the District Attorney, Fannie Willis. He is the Georgia official who filed the fourth case of the year against the former president. The local sheriff’s office said Monday that when Trump surrenders, the area around Rice Street Jail will be on “strict lockdown.”
