Rahul Gandhi’s Ladakh visit: Reached Lamayuru by motorcycle, will go to Zanskar tehsil of Kargil today

Rahul arrived in Ladakh on August 17 and is also scheduled to visit Kargil on a week-long tour of the region. This is his first visit to the region since Ladakh was carved out of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019 and given the status of a union territory.

Rahul wrote on his social media account, “Bharat Jodo is deep in the hearts and minds of every Indian. The slogan of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ echoing on the streets of Leh is a strong example of this unity. No power can suppress this voice full of affection and harmony.

Rahul, an MP from Kerala’s Wayanad, also shared pictures and a video of him meeting a group of ex-servicemen on the first floor of a building, holding the tricolor and shaking hands with enthusiastic crowds gathered on the streets of Leh’s main market. Can be seen greeting.

Namgyal, who accompanied the former Congress president to the main market, said Rahul approached some fruit sellers sitting on the roadside and “asked about their problems amid high inflation”.

“People gathered in the market raised slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi and even took selfies with him,” he said.

He said Rahul Gandhi also spoke to a family living in the city.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rode a motorcycle from Leh to Pangong Lake on Saturday and stayed overnight the next day to attend a function organized on the birth anniversary of his father and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

While returning from Nubra Valley on a motorcycle, Rahul took photographs at Khardungla, the world’s highest road at an altitude of 18,380 feet.

Namgyal said that on his way to Lamayuru from the Leh-Kargil National Highway, Rahul stopped at the famous ‘Magnetic Hill’ and had lunch at the famous Alchi Kitchen.
