News of Streak’s death false, says- I am very sad, Sehwag pays tribute

New Delhi. There was big news on Wednesday morning regarding the health of former Zimbabwe captain and veteran all-rounder Heath Streak. Former cricketer Henry Olanga, who played with Streak, announced his death due to cancer on social media. After this, veteran cricketers from all over the world also paid tribute to him. They include former India legend Virender Sehwag to Anil Kumble. However, a few hours later Heath Streak himself denied the news of his death. Olanga then deleted the old message and posted a new message stating that the streak was alive.

Henry Olanga wrote, I can confirm that rumors of Heath Streak’s death are greatly exaggerated. I just heard them. The third umpire has called it back. It’s very much alive, friends. Speaking to Mid-Day, Heath Streak said that the news of my death is completely rumor and false. I am alive and perfectly fine. “I am very disturbed to know that something as big as someone’s death can be spread without confirmation,” he said.

The 49-year-old all-rounder Heath Streak has been the bowling coach of Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions in the IPL. However, the ICC banned him for 8 years due to the fixing allegations in 2021.

Many Indian fans still remember the match between India and Zimbabwe in the 1996 ODI World Cup. Sachin Tendulkar had a great performance in the tournament, but he could not put up a big score against Zimbabwe. Only Heath Streak bowled him in the match.
