Former US President Donald Trump surrenders in election fraud case, released on bond

Donald Trump was released from Fulton jail on bond.

Former US President Donald Trump has walked out of Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail. According to the Washington Post, Trump surrendered at the Fulton County Jail in connection with efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. However, Trump was later released on bond. Trump was charged earlier this month with violating the state’s anti-racketeering act and other crimes.

A grand jury in Georgia indicted former President Donald Trump on August 14, 2023. He was indicted on 12 other charges, including fraud and crimes related to alleged attempts to reverse his 2020 election defeat in the state. Eighteen Trump aides, including former Trump lawyer Rudolph Giuliani and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, were also indicted on fraud and other serious charges for their alleged involvement in the scheme.
