Police said they are investigating whether the teacher’s act was communal. The teacher used communal language in the video, which the police has also confirmed.

SP Satyanarayan Prajapat said, “We have noticed a viral video. A lady teacher is asking some school students to slap her classmate (a Muslim student) for not learning tables in maths class. We have found objectionable content in the video.” Have also spoken to the school principal about the comment.”

In the video, the female teacher can be heard making communal remarks. “Mothers of Muslim children do not pay attention to their children’s education. They are responsible for their academic downfall,” says the teacher. “We have informed the Basic Education Officer. Action will be taken against the teacher,” the police officer said in a statement.

There is a lot of resentment among people regarding the viral video. Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Jayant Singh posted on Twitter (now X): “The Muzaffarnagar school video is a painful reminder of how deep-rooted religious divisions can fuel violence against marginalized minority communities. Our MLA from Muzaffarnagar will ensure that the UP Police automatically enrolls. The case and the child’s education are not disrupted!”

Meanwhile, the victim’s father told the media that he will not press charges against the school as he has reached a settlement with the school authorities. He said, “However, I will not send my child to that school anymore. The school has refunded the fee. I don’t want to pursue the matter any further.”
