Before the Asia Cup 2023, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken a big decision. BCCI has allowed president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla to travel to Pakistan. In fact, recently the Pakistan Cricket Board i.e. BCCI invited all the top officials of India to come to Pakistan for this Asian tournament. This time the Asia Cup is being played on the basis of hybrid model. Hosts Pakistan will host 4 matches during this period, while all other matches including the final will be played in Sri Lanka. It is being said that Roger Binny and Rajiv Shukla have accepted the invitation given by the PCB and the Indian board has cleared the two giants for the three-day tour of Pakistan.

Pakistan will face Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup on August 30 in Multan. According to Bhasha Samachar, a source with knowledge of the matter said on condition of confidentiality, “Binney, Shukla and secretary Jay Shah will be in Sri Lanka for the India-Pakistan flagship match at Pallekele (Kandy) on September 2. The trio will return to India the next day after which the BCCI president and vice-president will travel to Lahore via the Wagah border.

Both Binny and Shukla along with their wives have been invited to an official dinner hosted by the PCB Governor House in Lahore on September 4.

It is believed that the two officials will watch the Sri Lanka match against Afghanistan on September 5 and Pakistan’s opening match of the Super Four phase the following day.
Shukla, a senior BCCI official and Congress Rajya Sabha MP, was part of the team that toured Pakistan in 2004. India won a historic series against Pakistan on this tour led by Sourav Ganguly.
