The British High Commissioner said, “I love Indian food. Dal bati in Jodhpur, rasgulla in Kolkata and fish curry in Goa are very special. I also love the music here.”

After this, Alexander Ellis also sang the song ‘Yeh Dosti Hum Nahi Todenge’ from Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra’s superhit film Sholay.

The UK ambassador to India also said, “What could be more important than our Prime Minister saying ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on August 15?”

“India tops all three categories of UK visas – student, tourist and skilled worker,” said Alex Ellis at NDTV’s G20 Conclave.

He said, “India’s interests are long-term. The invasion of Ukraine shows how conflicted we are in the world. India will remain a very central country in the world and we have to find a way to deal with Russia.”
