A Bollywood superhit song is always heard on the festival of Rakhi or the most appropriate song on brother-sister love. We are talking ‘Of flowers and stars they all say, My sister is one in a thousand…’ Every word of this song is special. Two veterans of the industry have lent their voices in it. Come on, let’s talk about this in today’s Song of the Week…
This beautiful song is from the movie ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’. The film was released on 14 January 1971 starring Dev Anand, Mumtaz and Zeenat Aman. The film showed the hippie culture and drug addiction among the youth. This hit film was written and directed by Dev Anand himself. The idea of this film came to Dev Saheb during his visit to Nepal. While traveling in Kathmandu he saw hippies living there and then from here he hatched the plot of ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.
All the songs became hits
In the film, the future of the youth was shown to deteriorate due to sibling love and drug addiction. In this film, Zeenat played the role of Dev Anand’s sister. The film’s songs ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, ‘Dum Maro Dum’, ‘Kanchi Re Kanchi Re’ were huge hits. Along with this, the song ‘Phoolon Ka Taron Ka…’ picturized on Bhai and Behin was also very popular. The film’s music was composed by RD Burman. Two versions were kept in the film ‘Phoolo Ka Taron Ka…’. The male version was recorded by Kishore Kumar and the female version by Lata Mangeshkar. Kishore Da’s version is a hit even today and is definitely heard on every Rakhi.
