EPFO: If you want to check the balance amount of your EPF account i.e. Employees Provident Fund then this news is for you. There are two ways to check EPF balance online. First by visiting the official website of Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and second by using the Umang app. Explain that in both cases you will need to know your Universal Account Number (UAN). Also, to check your EPF balance, you need to register your mobile number with EPFO as well.
What is an EPF account?
EPF is an account in which salaried employees have to deposit 12% of their basic salary while the employer also has to deposit the same amount. Explain that 8.33% of the employer’s contribution is deposited in the Employees Pension Scheme (EPS) while 3.67% is deposited in the EPF account. Let us know in detail today the simple steps to check EPF balance online from Umang app.
Check with these simple steps
1. First go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store in mobile and download ‘UMANG’ app.
2. Open the UMANG app after downloading it. First of all you have to register on UMANG app.
3. Once registered, you will see that there is a search bar at the top of the application. Click on it and type EPFO.
4. On display as soon as you open it EPFO Many related services will appear. Here you go to ‘View Passbook’ under ‘Service’.
5. Click on ‘Employee-Centric Service’ as soon as it opens.
6. As soon as you open this link, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
7. Enter this OTP and click on ‘OK’ button. By doing this you can view your EPF passbook and your EPF balance.
Note: To check EPF balance from UMANG app, you need to register your mobile number with EPFO. In absence of this, you will not be able to avail this service.
