Some are talking about celebrating Rakshabandhan on Wednesday, August 30, while some are saying it is auspicious to tie rakhi on brother’s wrist on Thursday, August 31. If we talk about the official calendar, the Rakshabandhan holiday is August 30, Wednesday. So will there be a holiday in banks on Raksha Bandhan day i.e. 30th August? Where will the banks be closed on August 30?
According to RBI’s bank holiday, banks in Jaipur, Rajasthan and Shimla, Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on Rakshabandhan Day on August 30, but in other states will open and operate as usual under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Bank holiday on August 31 in these cities including Lucknow-Kanpur
Even on August 31, banks will be closed in some places on Thursday due to festivals like Rakshabandhan/Shri Narayan Guru Jayanti/Pang-Labsol. Banks will remain closed on August 31 in Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Kochi, Kanpur, Gangtok and Dehradun.
