Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer film ‘Gadar 2’ has not yet stopped at the box office. The film was released on August 11. The second week saw a decline in earnings and collections in the single digits, but few films have the momentum the film has gained as the weekend approaches. This film has created a new record on Sunday. The collection of ‘Gadar 2’ on 17th day is more than 11th day (13.5 crores). Not only ‘Gadar 2’, ‘OMG 2’ also benefited from the weekend. However, it was only a marginal increase.
‘Gadar 2’ entered the 450 crore club
Directed by Anil Sharma, the love story of Tara Singh and Sakina has received a lot of love from the audience. The film has already become a blockbuster. Talking about the lifetime collection, the film has broken the record of ‘KGF 2’ and is now close to the record of ‘Baahubali 2’. The film’s earnings remained in single digits on Thursday. Then on Friday too it fell drastically and earned only 7.1 crores. It did wonders on Saturday and collected 13.75 crores. Now the preliminary figures for Sunday 17th are in. According to web portal Sacnilk, the film could earn close to 15 crores. Thus its total collection has reached 454.95 crores.
OMG 2 firmly anchored in cinemas
‘OMG 2’, the sequel to 2008 release ‘OMG’, stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The film’s advance bookings were much lower than ‘Gadar 2’ but it benefited from word of mouth when it released. Despite having an A certificate, the film did exceptionally well. Even after 17 days it has managed to pull the audience to the theatres.

‘OMG 2’ earned only 1.7 crores last Friday. Its collection saw a huge jump on Saturday and collected 3.07 crores. According to Sunday’s opening figures, the film could earn up to 3.50 crores. Thus the total collection of ‘OMG 2’ has reached 134.69 crores.
