A return to the Pakistan team is awaited

New Delhi. Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman Umar Akmal is busy trying to make a comeback in the national team these days. The 33-year-old right-handed attacking batsman Umar got emotional recalling the tough days. Umar recently revealed in an interview that at one point he did not even have money to pay his daughter’s school fees and feed her a burger. She did not send her daughter to school for 8 months. Umar is the same batsman who was found guilty and banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for breaching the anti-corruption code of conduct.

Umar, who last played an international match in the year 2019, told Sam TV, ‘The kind of days I saw, even the enemy did not have to see those days. God tests by giving and taking something. When I was going through difficult times, I got to see the true face of the people around me. He left my side. I would like to thank those who have not left me in difficult times. Umar Akmal was suspended by the PCB in 2020 for violating the Anti-Corruption Code. He was banned for 3 years but appealed to the International Court of Arbitration after which his sentence was reduced to one year.
