Afghanistan Asia Cup Squad: Afghanistan announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup starting on August 30. Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead the team. Afghanistan suffered a three-match ODI series defeat against Pakistan on Saturday. Except for the second match, the Pakistan team dominated Afghanistan.

The five teams participating in the Asia Cup have announced their squads. However, the Sri Lankan team is unable to announce their squad due to injury and covid. Afghanistan will open their campaign against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup. The match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh will be played on September 3 in Lahore. After this, the Afghanistan team will face Sri Lanka on September 5.
