A Muslim student in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, who was slapped by his classmates after being ordered to do so by a school teacher, was last night extremely unwell and was taken to Meerut for medical examination after complaining of sleeplessness. The boy’s parents said he has returned home and is now normal. Earlier, the boy’s father had said that he would no longer send his son to the school where he was beaten up.

The boy’s father said, “The son was taken to Meerut for a check-up after he complained of restlessness and not sleeping through the night. The doctor said the boy was normal. Many people, including journalists, asked him about school. But he became upset.

When asked about reconciliation with Tripta Tyagi, the school teacher involved in the incident, the father said that there will be no reconciliation with her. Meanwhile, education department officials said the boy will be admitted to a government primary school if his family agrees to it. He said the department would also facilitate the transfer of other students studying in a public school in Khabbupur village, where the incident took place on Friday. Muzaffarnagar Basic Education Officer (BSA) Shubham Shukla told PTI, “The father of the boy who was slapped does not want his son to continue studying in that school. The block education officer spoke to the boy and he expressed his concern to the village government. In the primary school Willingness to study. He will be admitted to a government school on Monday, if his family is willing to do so.”

When the aggrieved student was asked about admission to a government school, his father said that the family had not taken any decision as the boy was upset. BSA Shukla said that the private school in Khabbupur village will not be closed and normal educational activities will continue. BSA said, “The school has been asked to explain its affiliation to the department within a month. It has three teachers and classes one to five.”
