Mumbai: There are many actresses or actors in Bollywood who have not married even after reaching the age of 40-45 years. Some did not find the person of their choice, while some did not feel the need for a partner. But, there are very few stars who have sacrificed their whole life in one sided love. There was one such actress in the 70s who remained a virgin all her life in a one-sided love affair with an actor. In her time, the actress worked with superstars like Jeetendra, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha, Rajesh Khanna, Shashi Kapoor to Amitabh Bachchan, but still she was called the unluckiest actress in the industry.

This actress is Sulakshana Pandit, who spent her entire life in love with Sanjeev Kumar, a famous actor of her time, but never married. Sulakshana Pandit’s love for Sanjeev Kumar is nothing short of a movie story. Sulakshana always remained a virgin waiting for true love. The actress had name, money and everything, but she didn’t have the partner she had imagined in her life. According to reports, Sulakshana Pandit was in love with Sholena Thakur aka Sanjeev Kumar, but the actor’s heart was beating for someone else. In such a situation, this one-sided love of the actress can never become mutual.

Sulakshana worked with Sanjeev Kumar in the 1975 release ‘Ulzaan’. It was during this film that Sulakshana fell in love with Sanjeev Kumar, but then fell in love with actress Hema Malini. Sanjeev Kumar is said to have proposed marriage to Hema twice, but the actress rejected his proposal. After which Sanjeev went into depression and decided not to marry for the rest of his life. This decision of Sanjeev Kumar also affected Sulakshana Pandit’s life. While waiting for the actor, she also remained a virgin all her life.

Sanjeev Kumar died of a heart attack in 1985 at the age of just 47. But, even after the actor’s departure, Sulakshana stuck to her vows and never married and began to suffer from depression. According to some media reports, gradually Sulakshana also lost her mental balance. In an interview, the actress’s sister Vireeda Pandit claimed that Sulakshana lost her mental balance because of Sanjeev Kumar.

The winner said that Sanjeev Kumar did not want to marry Didi because he had a heart condition and knew that he would die anytime. He didn’t want to ruin Didi’s life, that’s why he never married Didi. The winner said that she brought Sulakshana to her home in 2006. But she stayed in only one room, she neither met nor talked to anyone. Once she fell in the bathroom, breaking her hip bone. Sulakshana underwent four surgeries, due to which she could not walk properly.
