Aanke (1968): Dharmendra’s film emerged as the highest-grossing film of 1968, becoming a hit with audiences immediately after its release. According to Sacnilk figures, his total earnings were Rs 6.40 crore. It was a spy thriller film, produced and directed by Ramanand Sagar. After the surprise big hit of ‘Furz’ as a spy thriller, Sagar came up with a big budget film in the same genre, which was shot in several international locations. This was the first Hindi film to be shot in Beirut. Apart from Dharmendra, Mala Sinha, Mehmood, Lalita Pawar, Jeevan and Madan Puri also played important roles in the film.
