Although the final was not held during that time, India under the captaincy of Sunil Gavaskar won both their matches and won the title. Since then, India and Pakistan have never met in a final match in the ODI format.
So far 13 seasons of this tournament have been played in ODI format of Asia Cup. The tournament has been held twice in the T20 format, with India and Sri Lanka winning once each. At the same time, in the 13 formats played so far, the teams of Pakistan and India have not competed even once. In such a scenario, the question is, is this the year we see both of them in the final?
Virat Kohli has another chance to break Sachin Tendulkar’s world record, needs just 102 runs
The answer to this will be known only in the coming time, but if we look at the paper, no team except India and Pakistan looks like a contender to reach the final this time. Apart from India and Pakistan, teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal are part of this tournament, but no team is as strong as India and Pakistan in this format. In such a situation, every cricket fan hopes that the final of Asia Cup 2023 will be between India and Pakistan.
