Kota, known for its premier coaching institutes, receives a large number of students every year, where they undergo rigorous training to crack competitive exams. But the number of suicides in the heart of a competitive education system has also increased, showing the enormous strain this system can put on young minds and mental health.
Two students who were preparing for a competitive examination in Kota committed suicide within a span of 4 hours on Sunday. According to officials, 24 students have ended their lives so far in 2023 – the most compared to any other year.
