2000 note deposited or not? Banks will be closed for 16 days next month, know when are the holidays

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had decided to withdraw the Rs 2000 note from circulation in May. However, the RBI had said at that time that these notes would be valid for the next 4 months. For this, RBI had given time till September 30. On the other hand, RBI has Rs. 2,000 notes to limit exchange or deposit up to 20,000. That means people have only 1 month left now. Let us tell you that next month banks will be closed for 16 days due to festivals in various parts of the country and Sundays along with the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Please inform that September 6 is due to Sri Krishna Janmashtami, September 7 is due to Sri Krishna Ashtami, September 18 is due to Varsiddhi Vinayaka Vrat and Vinayaka Chaturthi, September 19 is due to Ganesh Chaturthi, September 20 is due to Ganesh Chaturthi. 22 September on account of Shri Narayan Guru Samadhi Day, 23 September on account of Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday, 25 September on account of Shrimant Shankar Dev’s birth anniversary, 27 September on account of Milad-e-Sharif, 28 September on account of Eid-e-Sharif. -Due to Milad, Banks will be closed in various states after Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi on September 29 due to Indriyatra.

Follow these steps to change notes
1. If you have Rs 2000 note available then you go to the nearest bank branch.
2. There, fill the required slip with the details asked for.
3. Now submit this slip along with 2000 rupee notes.
Note- Note that different banks may vary this process according to their convenience. The RBI Governor has said that banks will follow their own process and norms in case of exchange of Rs 2,000 notes.
