LPG price cut has nothing to do with elections, petrol prices not increased for 2 years: Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri

The central government on Tuesday evening reduced the price of domestic cooking gas by Rs 200. The new prices have come into effect from 30th August i.e. the day of Raksha Bandhan. In such a situation, the opposition coalition is targeting the government regarding this. The opposition alleges that the government has taken this decision keeping the elections in mind. Meanwhile, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has rejected these allegations. Puri said the decision had nothing to do with the elections. Opposition parties should refrain from distribution of freebies.

Why are non-BJP-ruled states not reducing VAT?

When the central government has reduced cess twice, BJP states have reduced their VAT, then why not? You have reduced VAT. Why don’t you (non-BJP-ruled states) reduce the VAT rate?”

Petrol and diesel prices have come down in India for the last two years

Such advertisement has nothing to do with elections. PM Modi has reduced the price of gas cylinders for his sisters.
