Congress fulfills 5 promises in 100 days of forming government in Karnataka, Griha Lakshmi Yojana also launched

Rahul Gandhi said that we have fulfilled the five promises we made in the election within 100 days of forming the government. Four of these five promises are for women. Our idea behind this is that just as a big tree cannot survive without strong roots, the strength of Karnataka is based on the mothers and sisters here.

Rahul Gandhi said, “Women from different corners of Karnataka are present here. I welcome them to this event.” Meanwhile, 2000 rupees were transferred to the bank accounts of about 10 women. Besides, the bank accounts of 50 percent of the estimated 1.08 crore beneficiaries will be credited today, while the remaining accounts have been promised to transfer money on Thursday.

“I am very happy. This will help me pay my children’s school fees,” said a woman. At the same time, another woman said, “I feel independent. I don’t have to depend on my children for medicines.” The only condition for availing this scheme is that it can be availed only by women who are the head of the family, who do not file Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Income Tax returns.

“Ration card and Aadhaar card are checked together for tax and GST,” said Karnataka Women and Child Welfare Minister Lakshmi Habbalkar. At the same time, Ration Card and Kutumb software was used to ensure no duplication.

“We are very vigilant to ensure that two women heads from the same family do not come forward. We are facing this problem,” said Archana MS, director of the women and child welfare department.

A beneficiary, Prema, said that the ration card was in the name of her grandmother, who had died. “We have to change him. They said they will help him get his name removed and release him with a new name by the first of next month,” said Prema. Most of the women said they would feel helpless if they did not get money. At the same time, other women who took advantage of the scheme claimed that they would be doing the government a favor by voting.
