Viv Richards played an innings of 181 runs off 125 balls against Sri Lanka in the World Cup match played in Karachi in 1987. Viv Richards captained the West Indies in the 1987 World Cup. Babar Azam became the second batsman to score 150+ runs as captain on Pakistan soil. This was also Babar Azam’s 19th ODI international century. During this match, Babar also made the world record of scoring 19 ODI centuries in the shortest innings.

Pakistan scored 342 runs for six wickets in 50 overs. Apart from Babar and Iftikhar, Mohammad Rizwan also played an important innings and contributed 44 runs.
