The government called a special session of Parliament

The government has called a “special session of Parliament” from September 18 to 22. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi posted on X (earlier Twitter), there will be five meetings. Joshi said that a meaningful discussion and debate is expected in Parliament during Amrutkaal. Government sources are still tight-lipped about the possible agenda. It is also not clear whether this special session will be held in the new Parliament House or not. By the way, it is expected that this will happen only in the old building.

However, the timing of the special session is interesting as it coincides with the third meeting of the opposition group India to be held in Mumbai. The 28-party bloc has declared its intention to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in next year’s general elections.

This special session comes close to several major developments, including India’s hosting of the recent G-20 Summit in Delhi to be held between September 8 and 10.
