Canada’s Daniel McGehee will become the first transgender cricketer to play international cricket when he plays against Bangladesh in a T20 World Cup 2024 qualifier. McGahee, 29, has been named to the Canadian women’s team for next month’s qualifiers. She has met the ICC’s eligibility criteria for male-to-female transgender players.

She came to Canada from Australia in February 2020 and transitioned from male to female in November 2020.
