The central government has taken a big decision to hold only one election in the country. The Center has formed a committee on ‘One Country One Election’. Former President Ram Nath Kovind has been made the chairman of this committee. The committee will submit its report after considering the issue. Only after this will it be decided whether the government will prepare for the state assembly elections along with the Lok Sabha elections or not. Let us tell you that one country, one election means that all the elections in the country should be held simultaneously. For some time after the independence of the country, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held simultaneously, but later this practice ended and the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections were held separately. At the same time, the central government has also called a special session of Parliament from September 18 to 22. According to sources, the government may also bring a bill regarding one election per country during this period.
