New Delhi. The Indian team has been having problems with injuries and sometimes batting spots for several days. But now on September 2, Team India will start the Asia Cup against Pakistan (IND vs PAK). This match is no less than a final for Rohit Sharma. In the very first match of the Asia Cup, Pakistan made its stance clear. But it has become a challenge for Indian team captain Rohit Sharma to select the playing eleven for this high voltage match.
1. Opening a large liability- Rohit Sharma said in a press conference about his responsibility, ‘My role as a top-order batsman becomes the most important for the team. From my experience I will bat long to put the team in good shape. I have batted very dangerously for the last several months.
2. The final will be between India and Pakistan- India-Pakistan teams have never met in the final in the history of Asia Cup. Rohit Sharma has expressed his apprehension that this time there may be a clash between the two teams in the final.
3. Playing-XI Big Challenge- Regarding the playing eleven, Rohit Sharma said, ‘It is not easy to select the playing eleven. But we have more than one batsman. We don’t have Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf so we can’t practice against them. But we have experience playing them. We know in which field he will bowl.
4. Jasprit Bumrah gave good news- The captain also gave his reaction regarding the return of Jasprit Bumrah. Apart from this, an update was also given about his bowling. Rohit said, ‘Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good, this is a very good sign for us.’
5. The World Cup will be aimed at- Rohit Sharma will field some new players in the Asia Cup. “We need to tick some boxes before the World Cup, hopefully we can do that during the Asia Cup,” Hitman said of the World Cup.
