The blockbuster film released in 1991, featuring all three stars, was not a first choice.

Mumbai: It’s been 32 years since Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s film ‘Saajan’ was released, but the songs from the film still live in people’s hearts. Be it a new lover or a lover suffering from the pain of heartbreak, the songs from this film are still loved by people even today. In 1991, when the film Saajan was released in cinemas, crowds gathered outside the theatres. Made on a budget of Rs 1.58 crore, the film turned out to be a blockbuster. The film earned 18 crore rupees worldwide.

Saajan received positive response from critics and audiences and especially his songs were highly appreciated. The film was directed by Sajan Lawrence, which proved to be the most successful and biggest film of his career. It is said that Sajan’s story was based on the life of writer Reema Rakesh Nath. Seeing the success of the film, the film was also made in Telugu with the name Allari Priyudu. However, this was an unofficial remake of Saajan.

The story of Saajan was based on a love triangle, with Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan in the lead roles. However, it is another matter that these three actors i.e. Sanjay, Madhuri and Salman Khan were not the first choice for the film. Yes, he was not the first choice of the producers for the blockbuster Saajan which gave a new direction to the careers of the three stars. This was the actor’s first choice
Aamir Khan was first offered the role of Akash Verma played by Salman Khan in this film. Mr Perfectionist also liked the script and knew that the film would prove to be a blockbuster in the future. But, he could not connect himself with the role of Akash, so he felt it was right to withdraw from the film. Aamir Khan himself mentioned this in an interview.

It is said that Rishi Kapoor was first approached for the role of Sagar in the film. But, when he couldn’t be a part of the film, Sanjay Dutt was approached and he immediately agreed to the film and became Sagar. Not only this, Madhuri Dixit was not the producers’ first choice for Pooja Saxena’s role in the film. Yes, earlier this film was offered to Ayesha Julka. He also signed this film. But, in the meantime, Ayesha falls ill and Madhuri Dixit gains. Madhuri agreed to the film and became Pooja Saxena.
