Former Zimbabwe cricket team captain and veteran all-rounder Heath Streak has passed away. At the age of 49, he has said goodbye to this world. Heath Streak, who had been battling cancer for a long time, breathed his last on September 3. Heath Streak’s death has been shared by his wife Nadine Streak on social media. News of his death also surfaced on August 23, but at the time it turned out to be a rumour.
Nadine Streak has posted several pictures of Heath Streak on Facebook, in which she is seen with her family. In the caption she wrote, “Early this morning, Sunday 3 September 2023, God took the greatest love of my life and the father of my beautiful children away from his home with angels where he will spend his last days together. Family and friends.” Wanted to spend time with close loved ones. He was full of love and peace and never left the park alone. Until I hold you again our souls are one for eternity, Streaky.”
The Heath streak belongs to the ranks of Zimbabwe’s greatest cricketers. Streak, who captained the team from 2000 to 2004, played a total of 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for the country. He is the only player to take 100 wickets in Test cricket for his country. During his 12-year career, he has single-handedly handled Zimbabwe’s struggling bowling unit at times.
