New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has registered a big achievement in his name against Nepal in the fifth match of Asia Cup 2023. In this match, he took 3 wickets by giving 40 runs in the quota of 10 overs. While fast bowler Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets for 61 runs in 9.2 overs, Jadeja was economical in comparison. Jaddu sent Bheem Sharkey and Kushal Mallan to the pavilion along with Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel.

Jadeja is a spinner all-rounder. He has equaled compatriot former all-rounder Irfan Pathan for taking the most wickets in the ODI format of the Asia Cup. Jadeja and Pathan have an identical 22 wickets each in the Asia Cup ODI format. Jadeja achieved this record in 15 innings at an average of 24.5 while Pathan took 12 innings to reach here. Sachin Tendulkar is now third in the list, taking 17 wickets in 15 innings while Kapil Dev has taken 15 wickets in 7 innings.

Muralitharan is number one in the overall list
Left arm spinner Jadeja has been an important player for the Indian team in the Asia Cup. Overall speaking Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan is number one in this list with 30 wickets while Lasith Malinga is second with 29 wickets while Ajanta Mendis is third with 26 wickets. Mendis has taken 26 wickets in 8 matches.

With the help of Asif’s half-century, Nepal scored 230 runs
Talking about the match, Nepal posted a respectable score of 230 runs in 48.2 overs with the help of Asif Sheikh’s half-century and Sompal Kami’s impressive innings. Nepal were invited to bat first after Asif Sheikh (58 off 97 balls) and Kushal Bhurtel (38 off 25 balls) added 65 runs for the first wicket. In the lower order, Sompal made a useful contribution of 48 runs off 56 balls.
