Team India registered a brilliant 10-wicket victory over Nepal in the Asia Cup 2023 on Monday. India’s star batsman Shubman Gill and captain Rohit Sharma defeated the Nepalese bowlers well. India were given a revised target of 145 runs in a rain-affected match. Gill played an innings of 67 runs off 62 balls with the help of 8 fours and one six. Rohit scored 74 runs in 59 balls with the help of 6 fours and 5 sixes. Gill has achieved a great feat during his half-century innings.

In fact, Gill has become the fastest Indian player to score 1500 ODI runs. He touched this figure in 29 innings. Gill said dash Batsman Shreyas Iyer’s record has been broken. Iyer completed 1500 runs in 34 innings. Gill averages over 60 in ODIs. He made his ODI debut on 31 January 2019. However, Gill has been in and out of the team several times since then. India won the toss and decided to bowl first against Nepal. India bowled out Nepal for 230 runs in 48.2 overs. Asif Shaikh (58) scored a half-century from Nepal. Sompal Kami contributed 48 runs and Kushal Bhurtel contributed 38 runs. When Team India set out to chase the target, it rained after 2.1 overs. By then India had scored 17 runs and the game was stopped for almost two hours due to rain. After this India was given a revised target of 145 runs in 23 overs. The first international match was played between India and Nepal. India has made it to the Super-4 round of the Asia Cup.
