Pakistan has started with a win in the Super 4 phase of Asia Cup 2023. Pakistan registered a comfortable seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first match of the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup on Wednesday. With this win, Pakistan has taken its step towards the final. Pakistan has to play its next matches against India and Sri Lanka. After a brilliant performance by the bowlers, Pakistan achieved a modest target of 194 runs with 10.3 overs remaining. With this win, Pakistan has two points.
India and Pakistan have qualified from Group A while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka from Group B have qualified for the second round of the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 stage. In the very first match of Super 4, the Bangladesh team has created a stir. They need to win both their remaining matches, which are against India and Sri Lanka, to survive in the tournament.
The remaining matches of the Asia Cup, which are being played on the hybrid model, will now be played in Colombo. Four matches of Asia Cup 2023 were to be played in Pakistan and in the last match played in Lahore, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. There are six matches left in the tournament and all these matches are against Colombo R. It will be played at Premadasa Stadium.
The Indian team will play their first match in the Super 4 against Pakistan on Sunday (September 10). Both India’s matches in the league stage were hampered by rain and according to the weather report, rain is likely during the next match against Pakistan as well, so it will be difficult for India to survive in the tournament. Because if the match cannot be played due to rain then both teams will get 1-1 points. It will benefit Pakistan but will increase difficulties for India.
India’s first match in the Super 4 phase of the Asia Cup is against Pakistan on Sunday, with the second match a day later on September 12 against Sri Lanka. India will play the third match against Bangladesh on September 15.
