Stock markets continue to rally, BSE surges 100 points

Stock Market Live Updates: The stock market saw a surge on the last trading day of the week. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange opened at 19,774.80 points today. At 9.17 am, the NSE was trading up 0.12 percent at 19750.85. At the same time, the BSE Sensex was trading up 0.19 percent or 125.93 points at 66,391.49 points. L&T shares were the biggest gainers in the Sensex. Shares of the company rose more than 2 percent in the morning. Shares of NTP, Bazar Finserv, Maruti, Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel were trading higher. At the same time, shares of Axis Bank, TCS, ICICI Bank have seen declines this morning.

The gains in the domestic stock market continued for the fifth consecutive trading session on Thursday with the Sensex crossing the 66,000 mark on buying in shares of HDFC Bank, L&T and SBI. Traders said that softening crude oil prices in the international market also supported the domestic market.

The BSE’s 30-share benchmark Sensex ended up 385.04 points, or 0.58 per cent, at 66,265.56. Amid this surge, the Sensex managed to recoup the losses incurred in early trading. The Sensex also touched a low of 65,672.34 points and a high of 66,296.90 points during trading.
