CSJMU Convocation 2023: Chancellor’s Gold Medal, Chancellor’s Silver Medal, Chancellor’s Bronze Medal and Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal will be awarded to Asmita Tripathi of Allen House Business School, Ruma. Governor Anandiben Patel will present the medal at the 38th Convocation of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University. For the first time a professional course student will receive the university’s highest medal at the convocation. So far the Faculty of Arts has been dominant. In the last convocation, Radha Gupta, a B.Ed student, received the Chancellor’s Gold Medal.
CSJMU’s convocation is on September 28. The provisional list of medals to be awarded at the ceremony was released on Thursday. The highest number of medals in the list are Chancellor Gold, Vice Chancellor Silver. Asmita Tripathi who got the highest medal has secured 87.83 percent marks. Chancellor’s silver medalist Shubra Agarwal is second by just 0.18 percent. Shubra has secured 87.65 percent marks. Shubra studied Microbiology from CSJMU’s School of Science. Chancellor’s Gold Medal, Chancellor’s Silver Medal, Chancellor’s Bronze Medal, Chancellor’s Gold Medal and Sponsored Gold Medal will be awarded at the Convocation. Rakesh Kumar, Controller of Examinations of the university, said that a prospective list of medal recipients has been issued. If any student or student has any objection he/she can register it till 12th September.
Dream is to become an IAS: Asmita
Allen House Business School student Asmita Tripathi, who bagged four medals including the Chancellor’s Gold at the CSJMU convocation, wants to do UPSC and become an IAS. Elated to be selected for the top medal, Asmita said her childhood dream had come true. Living in Yashoda Nagar, Asmita Tripathi’s father Pulin Tripathi is connected to the media world and mother Rajni Tripathi is a housewife. Younger sister Ipsa is doing her B.Sc while brother is a student of a high school. Asmita did her high school and intermediate from Archie’s Higher Secondary School in Shyam Nagar. Scored 97% in High School and 98% in Intermediate. After this he did BBA from Allen House Business School, Ruma and secured 87.83 percent marks.

Unilateral capture of daughters
This year the daughters have dominated the convocation ceremony. Out of 75 medals, 63 medals have gone to girls alone. Only sons got 12 medals. The Chancellor’s Gold Medal and two Chancellor’s Silver Medals included in the highest medal will be awarded to all daughters. Also, out of seven Vice Chancellor Gold Medals, six medals will be given to daughters.
