Chandigarh. Indian cricket team’s young wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan proved that he is a future superstar by scoring a brilliant half-century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023. Born in Bihar and playing domestic cricket for Jharkhand, this diminutive player has quickly achieved a special place on the strength of his hard work. His coach Uttam Majumdar (Uttam Majumdar) had a big hand in bringing Ishaan to this point, who recognized the talent of this talented player and enabled him to do so.
In an exclusive conversation with News18, Uttam Majumdar revealed many unheard things about Ishaan. The coach said that at the age of 6, Ishaan came to the ground in Patna with his father. Uttam said I bowled 6 balls to Ishaan in the nets and the way this left-handed batsman played cover drives, I felt he had talent.

Played matches with under 14 team at the age of 7
Coach Uttam Majumdar said that once he considered Ishaan playing a match with the under-14 team. Ishaan was 7 years old then. Ishan came to open in that match and hit some good shots. While he was batting on 14, a bouncer hit his helmet. After this, blood started flowing from Ishaan’s nose. Ishaan was rushed by bike to the hospital where he received stitches. Ishan Kishan has been selected in the ODI World Cup squad. He is currently playing in the Asia Cup.
The coach said this after seeing Ishaan’s passion
The coach said that after first aid he came to the field and Ishaan was with his father. After a while there was a sound from behind and Ishaan was standing wearing a cushion pad and trying to put on a helmet. The coach was shocked to see all this. After this the coach was convinced that this boy would definitely play for India one day.
Ishan was disappointed to miss out on a century against Pakistan
Coach Uttam Majumdar said that Ishan was happy after the Asia Cup match against Pakistan but was also disappointed with the shot on which he was dismissed. Ishan said the catch was taken when the ball hit the top of the bat, otherwise he too would have gone out for a boundary.
Mahi told this to Ishaan
Uttam said that when Ishan scored 273 against Delhi in 2016, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also present in the Jharkhand dressing room. Dhoni was shocked to see Ishan’s brilliant innings and said that if you don’t play India then it’s not right.
