Needless to say, houses in Mumbai are extremely expensive, and finding a good place to rent or buy can be a headache. When it comes to rental houses, Mumbai tops the most expensive cities in India, with prices skyrocketing. That is why people are forced to live in small apartments, which hardly have any space.

Recently, an Instagram user shared a house tour video of a 1BHK flat in Mumbai, which left users both shocked and worried. In particular, the videos poke fun at house tour videos made by real estate agents.
While sharing the video on Instagram, Sumit Palve wrote, “Come on boss, I’ll show you!” South Bombay is the boss, you have to compromise, boss.” He repeatedly says that even for a 2.5 crore apartment, the buyer has to “compromise” because the property is in South Mumbai.

There are huge reactions from users on this video. While some were happy, others said they felt choked up after watching the video and that it highlighted the housing crisis in Mumbai. Some people living in big houses in other cities said the video made them aware of their privilege.
“I was out of breath by the time it hit the roof,” one user wrote. Another wrote, “Imagine the life of the people living here.” A third said, ‘The worst thing is the kitchen washroom.’ A fourth said: ‘Joking aside, it really made me realize how privileged I am.’
“After seeing this, houses in Delhi look like heaven,” said the fifth. Another person wrote, “My house is at least 10 times the size of this place and all of us siblings grew up thinking we had a small house.”
Mumbai is a major economic hub of India and attracts a large number of people for work and business, leading to high demand for housing. This increases the competition for rental properties and consequently, increases the rental prices.
