A wild Asian elephant found a consignment of 2.8 kg of opium while roaming in the forest in Mengmen township of south China’s Yunnan province, reported the Straits Times. A video of this is going viral on the internet, showing four wild elephants being led away from a village after one of the elephants smelled a bag, which was later seized by the police.

The video shows an elephant walking away from the herd and wiping the ground with its trunk before throwing the black bag. Police were already present at the spot.
The media outlet reported that the police waited until the wild elephants came out before searching the bag. The footage shows police opening the bag and finding a brick of opium tightly wrapped under layers of clothing.
Police investigation is ongoing.

The video of the drug bust of a wild elephant is getting a lot of reactions on social media platforms. Commenting on the video, one user wrote, “The studio that brought you the Cocaine Beer, the Cocaine Elephant came from.”
