New Delhi. Asia Cup 2023 Super-4 matches have started. In the first match, Pakistan registered an easy victory against Bangladesh by 7 wickets. The remaining 5 matches of the Super-4 are scheduled to be held in Colombo. But there is a chance of rain for the next 10 days. In such a situation all matches are at risk. The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to take place on September 10. Now special rules have been made regarding this match. This can lead to controversy. A reserve day has been kept by the organizers for the match between India and Pakistan. That means if the match is not completed on 10th September then it will be completed on 11th September. Earlier in the group round, the mistakes of the organizers in the match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan were questioned. In this regard, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has also demanded action against the officials concerned with the Asian Cricket Council.
There are still 5 matches left in Super-4. 4 teams have to play matches during this period. According to the news of Cricinfo, the reserve day has been kept only for the match between India and Pakistan to be held on September 10. This is not the case in the other 4 matches of the Super-4. That is, if the match is not completed due to rain, then both the teams will get one match each. Having a reserve day in the match between India and Pakistan can benefit both the teams. Especially the Pakistan team. Babar Azam led Pakistan has already won their first Super-4 match.
Pakistan’s final is almost decided
Each team has to play 3 matches in Super-4. Pakistan have 2 points after one match while Bangladesh have lost their first match. In such a situation, if the Pakistan team defeats the Indian team, then its ticket to the final will be almost guaranteed. On the other hand, if the Indian team defeats Pakistan in the crucial match and the remaining 4 matches of the Super-4 are cancelled, then India and Pakistan will reach the final. In such a situation, the Sri Lankan team will be out of the title race without losing a single match in the Super-4. The organizers have now reserved a day for the finals to be held on 17th September.
Complete math is not given
Talking about the match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, Lanka, playing first in the match, scored 291 runs. Afghanistan could have reached the final only if they could have reached the target in 37.1 overs due to a better run rate, but the team could only score 289 runs. After the match, Afghanistan team coach Jonathan Trott questioned the match officials and said that he had not been told the full math of qualification.

In such a situation, he now had to score 3 runs off one ball, but Mujeeb ur Rahman was out on the next ball. In such a situation, the Afghanistan team felt that they were out of the tournament. While the team lasted 38.1 overs in the match. If Afghanistan had scored 293 runs after 37.2 overs, 294 runs after 37.3 overs, 295 runs after 37.5 overs, 296 runs in 38 overs and 297 runs in 38.1 overs, they would have overtaken Sri Lanka in terms of run rate.
