Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh says he will not experiment as captain on the upcoming limited-overs tour of South Africa and will instead follow the same approach followed by regular skipper Pat Cummins and coach Andrew… McDonald walked. Cummins is currently recovering from a wrist injury and in his absence, the 31-year-old Marsh has been handed the captaincy of Australia’s T20 and ODI teams.

Marsh told Cricket.CO.AU, “I probably won’t do any new experiments. I believe the most important thing I have learned for leadership skills is to be honest with myself. I will maintain this and create an environment in which players can fully enjoy cricket while playing for Australia.

Marsh hoped that Cummins would show faith in him during the ODI World Cup in India. He said, “I think Pat’s biggest quality is that he can depend on other players while captaining. He is playing a fantastic role.

Marsh said, ‘Being a bowler, it is not possible for him to play every match in every format and so there are players he can rely on. We have a good friendship and I know he can trust me and I can trust him.
