Players ready to wreak havoc in the Asia Cup
New Delhi. A confident Pakistan captain Babar Azam said on Monday that the team’s players are driven by a “hunger” for success and are eyeing Asia Cup and World Cup titles. Pakistan are currently on the brink of reaching the top spot in the ODI rankings after a 4-1 home series win against New Zealand. If the team manages to clean-up the three-match series against Afghanistan in Sri Lanka starting on Tuesday, they will leapfrog Australia to the top of the rankings.
“Every player in this team has a hunger to perform well,” Babar said on the eve of the first match against Afghanistan in Hambantota on Monday. Every player wants to give a match winning performance.
He said, “We have seen recently that different players have become man of the match in different matches. This is a good sign for any team. When you perform in big tournaments, your morale increases as a team and as an individual.
