To be held on August 31 and September 1 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai, 63 delegates will participate in the meeting of ‘Bharat’, an opposition alliance of 28 political parties. Fadnavis told reporters, “India is without an engagement agenda. Their only objective is to remove Modi from his post.
He said, “Once Modi creates a space in people’s minds, even if not 36 but 100 parties come together, he cannot be removed. He has settled in the hearts of people because of his hard work, pro-poor policies and dedication to his work.
Fadnavis claimed that members of the ‘Bharat’ coalition have come together to protect their political interests. The BJP leader said, “Five political parties have already shown keen interest for the post of Prime Minister. Even if they finalize a name, it should be acceptable to people.
Meanwhile, BJP state president Chandrasekhar Bawankule said, “The India coalition is nothing but a herd of animals.” He touts himself as capable of bringing about major changes but his claims have already been dismissed. Bawankule claimed that there are some parties in the 28-party ‘Bharat’ coalition which do not have a single worker in Maharashtra.
The BJP leader said that they had made similar attempts before the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections but they failed.
