The ‘Bharat Mandapam’ was inaugurated on July 26, 2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ‘Bharat Mandapam’ was conceived following the Prime Minister’s idea of creating state-of-the-art infrastructure for holding important meetings, conferences and exhibitions.

The convention center was developed at a cost of approximately ₹2,700 crore.

The IECC complex is the country’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibition) venue spread over 123 acres.

The center is designed to host large-scale international exhibitions, trade fairs, conferences, seminars and other events. Equipped with several meeting rooms, lounges, auditoriums, amphitheaters and business centers, the center is capable of hosting a variety of events. Its amphitheater has a seating capacity of 3,000 people.

The Bharat Mandapam also has a multi-purpose hall and a plenary hall with a total capacity of 7,000 people, which is more than the capacity of the famous Sydney Opera House in Australia.

The shape of the building is inspired by the ‘conch’ and various elements of traditional art and culture of India are depicted on various walls and facades of the convention centre.

Bharat Mandapam is a 5G-enabled fully Wi-Fi-covered complex with 10G intranet connectivity, interpretation rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology capable of working in 16 languages, life-size video walls as well as advanced AV systems, building management ensuring optimum efficiency and energy efficiency. The system features a light management system with dimming and occupancy sensors, a state-of-the-art DCN (Data Communication Network), an integrated surveillance system and an energy-efficient centralized air conditioning system.
