BIHAR STET: The Patna High Court has given major relief to the candidates who are debarred from the Bihar Secondary and Higher Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) on the basis of old age. The Bihar School Examination Committee has been ordered to accept the applications of all applicants including other candidates by 2 pm on Saturday. On the other hand, after a hearing in the High Court, the Bihar Board has given four years relaxation to older candidates in STET. Candidates who have become (above the prescribed age) in the period from August 1, 2019 to August 1, 2023, will get an opportunity to apply. Online application can be done till 5 pm on August 2.
A single bench of Justice Rajeev Ranjan Prasad heard the petition filed by Shambhu Kumar and others on Friday. The court clarified that this order is not final. Any decision taken after hearing all parties will be implemented after filing counter affidavits by the state government and examination committee.
Bihar STET admit card issued, exam from September 4, shoes-gloves banned
The court ordered the examination committee to take action including publishing a notice to accept the applications. Advocate Dinu Kumar and Ritika Rani, appearing for the petitioners, told the court that the plea was rejected citing old age. He challenged the validity of clause 6 (e and f) of the advertisement. STET will be held from 4th to 15th September. The next hearing of the case will be held on October 4.
Opportunity until 5 pm today
Paper-1 (9th & 10th) and Paper-Two (11th & 12th) covers all categories of English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, Maithili and Commerce trained candidates. Candidates of these subjects can apply online till 5 pm on August 2.
Revised Admit Card till date
The Bihar School Examination Board has given an opportunity to the candidates to correct the mistakes in the admit card. Candidates can correct mistakes in their admit card in name of father and mother, date of birth, gender, category, disabled category, ex-service man category. Candidates will update by login using their user id and password.
