According to sources, the suspended deputy director of Delhi Women and Child Development was in touch with a lawyer and planned to seek anticipatory bail from the court. But before he could do so, he was arrested near his home in North Delhi’s Burari.

A case has been registered under the POCSO Act
Premodaya Khakha faces serious charges of child abuse under the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) for allegedly raping her friend’s 14-year-old daughter for months. The girl was repeatedly raped between November 2020 and January 2021
The girl, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, has said in the police complaint that Khakha was an old friend of her father. After the death of her father in 2020, the girl’s mother sent her to live with his wife in Khakha. She told the police that she was repeatedly raped between November 2020 and January 2021. The matter came to light when the girl was hospitalized after suffering repeated anxiety attacks. During psychotherapy sessions, she told doctors about alleged sexual harassment by a Delhi official. The doctors then alerted the police, who swung into action and took the officer into custody.
