India has become the first country in the world to successfully land on the South Pole of the Moon. At 6.04 pm on August 23, the Chandrayaan-3 lander touched down on the South Pole of the Moon. After reaching the moon, Chandrayaan-3 sent a message – ‘I have reached my destination.’ At the same time, Prime Minister Modi congratulated the people of South Africa and said- ‘Chanda Mama is not far away now’. Meanwhile, Chandrayaan-3 has sent its picture as soon as it set foot on the moon. ISRO has tweeted this photo.

It may take a day for the rover to come out
After the landing of Chandrayaan-3, everyone is eagerly waiting for rover Pragyan lander to come out from inside Vikram. Meanwhile, ISRO said, “All the sensors of the lander-rover are being tested. If everything is fine then the rover will be ejected after 3-4 hours with an order from ISRO. A decision to evacuate will be taken after 24 hours.”
Next 14 days are important – ISRO chief
ISRO Director S. Somnath said- “Next 14 days are very important for us. Pragyan rover may take a day to come out. Pragyan will give us information about lunar atmosphere. Many of our missions are in queue. Soon Surya Aditya L1 will be sent. Work on Gaganyaan But running.”
Why only a 14 day mission?
According to Isro, the rover Pragyan lander will be useful as soon as it comes out of Vikram. The rover will explore the South Pole of the Moon for 14 days. In fact, 14 days on Earth equals only one day on the Moon. In such a scenario, after landing at the South Pole, the rover will have only 14 days to complete the task. During this time there will be sunlight on the moon and both will continue to receive solar energy. After 14 days it will be dark at the South Pole. Both Land Rovers will then stop working.
