New Delhi: A six-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a senior student inside a school bus in north-west Delhi’s Rohini area. The police gave this information on Saturday. A senior police officer said that the accused has been nabbed.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a notice to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini, seeking information on the action taken in the case of sexual harassment of a minor girl in a private school bus. A senior police officer said that the police received information about the molestation of a minor girl on Wednesday.
“The victim’s father has alleged in his written complaint that his daughter was molested by a boy in a school bus,” the officer said. According to the official, a case has been registered with the Begampur police under Section 354 (Outrage on modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code, Section 228A (Disclosure of identity of victim of certain offence) and Protection of Children from Sexual Harassment (POCSO) Act 10/21 .”
The official said that the accused has been nabbed and further investigation is underway. A letter issued to Rohini’s Deputy Commissioner of Police reads, “The Commission has been informed that the girl studies in a private school in Delhi’s Begampur area. The victim’s mother said that on August 23, when the school bus dropped her daughter at the gate of the society, she saw that the girl’s bag was wet due to urine.They allege that when questioned, the girl said that a senior class student sexually assaulted her in the school bus.
The DCWA has sought a copy of the FIR registered in a notice issued on September 1 and asked to explain the reason if there is delay in lodging the FIR.
The DCW has also asked in the notice whether the accused has been arrested or nabbed in the case. And has any FIR been registered against the school chairman, school administrator, principal, vice principal and other school officials for allegedly not providing information and revealing the identity of the victim?
“A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a senior boy in a private school bus in Delhi. The girl’s mother told us that the school is pressuring her to withdraw the complaint,” Commission Chairperson Swati Maliwal said in a post on social media platform ‘X’. A notice is being given to Delhi Police in this matter.Strict action should also be taken against the school.
