Over the past two years, Tata Steel has expanded its integrated remote operations center to remotely control 100% of the operations of three sinter plants in Jamshedpur. Recently they integrated all group operations of Tata Steel Jamshedpur with remote control using AI model. Tata Steel aims to expand remote coverage to more sites while exploring future technologies like 5G, Metaverse and quantum computing for remote control.
AI training for L&T employees
Another major player using AI technology is L&T. L&T leverages artificial intelligence, machine learning, drones, analytics automation, robotics for precast automation welding as well as geospatial mapping and digital fabrication. To meet this demand, L&T is training its employees through various initiatives and looking to hire specific roles such as AI Architect, Data Scientist, AI Infrastructure Manager and AI Security Specialist. Mondelez India is also on a mission to become a future-ready organization by developing its AI capabilities and workforce. Digital marketing and data science roles have gained importance in Mondelez’s recruitment strategy, as they recognize the importance of leveraging AI in sales and leading campaigns. According to Ankit Aggarwal, CEO of recruitment services company Michael Page, AI recruitment has increased by 50% in the last one year in sectors such as healthcare, retail, telecom and Indian conglomerates. The boom reflects the growing trend towards automation and digitization among non-tech companies.
