India wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has identified two areas where the Indian team needs to improve ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Karthik says two things need to be kept in mind during Asia Cup 2023, one is who will be the fourth fast bowler and secondly do you want a left-handed batsman in the middle order? There are many question marks over the squad ahead of Asia Cup 2023, but Karthik says you have to find answers to these two questions in the Asia Cup.
Karthik believes that India should use the Asia Cup campaign to ensure that the team composition is in good shape for the World Cup starting on October 5. “There are two areas in the Asia Cup (India should address in the Asia Cup). No. 1. Who is the fourth medium pacer? We have Jasprit (Bumrah), we have (Mohammed) Shami and we have (Mohammed Siraj). We are. Sure about these three, but who will be the fourth fast bowler? Will it be Shardul Thakur? Will it be the famous Krishna? Mukesh Kumar? Or will you go for Umran Malik’s pace?”

On his next question, Karthik said, “Do we need a left-arm batsman? Should we look at Tilak Verma or is Suryakumar (Yadav) the option because he plays all the sweeps available in the game, making it difficult for the spinners.” But is a very good player, so who is the backup batsman. That is the next question. For me, these are two areas and I think these are two big things for India to answer during Asia. Cup. Needed.” Both these batsmen have been selected for the Asia Cup, while the bowling has Shardul Thakur and the famous Krishna.
